Volunteers needed for research on Down syndrome and aging
Alice Bacherini, a PhD Student in Ethics of Communication, Scientific Research and Technology Innovation at the University of Perugia (Italy), and her mentors Professors Giulia Balboni and Susan M. Havercamp (The Ohio State University, USA) are conducting a study exploring the perspective of disability professionals (e.g., direct support professionals, case managers or other support professionals) or healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, dentist, nurses, psychologists) working in the field of intellectual disability, or family members of children or adults with intellectual disability about the healthcare experience of adults with intellectual disability. They are interested to know their impressions about physicians, and about physicians’ beliefs on intellectual disability.
Please visit the online survey (https://forms.gle/ZHjQmBN4BoUKMyGk9) to participate, if appropriate. This study has been approved by the University of Perugia’s Bioethical Committee and requires about 40 minutes to completion. If you have any questions, please email Alice Bacherini [email protected].
Transportation Equity Survey for Ohioans with Disabilities
Finding safe, affordable, and appropriate transportation options can be difficult for Ohioans with disabilities. Limited access to transportation prevents people with disabilities from getting to medical appointments, work, school and community events.
The Government Resource Center, with support from the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council (Ohio DD Council), is surveying Ohioans with disabilities, transportation service providers who serve Ohioans with disabilities, and agencies and advocates for Ohioans with disabilities about transportation experiences and barriers.
The 2021 survey is now open! If you are a person with a disability over the age of 19 or a transportation provider, take the survey here.
